We are looking to hire a 12 month sandwich placement student to undertake a work placement in the third year of their accounting degree course to open up their employment prospects. This is a full time role (35 hours per week), based in our North London office.

Role responsibilities
You will be the accounts assistant. You will have a varied and exciting role, working with the latest accounting and office software and you will receive full on the job training and personalised support to maximise your progress.
Accounting assistant
You will get experience of all aspects of working in an accounting practice and work towards achieving all of the following:
- preparation of company statutory financial statements, corporation tax returns and personal tax returns from client records using Sage Accounting Partner Edition
- processing of purchase invoice data using Hubdoc and Dext and coding of bank data in Xero as required
- preparing reconciliation reports and analysis of client data using Google Sheets tables, vlookups and pivot tables
- preparing and delivering monthly and annual management accounts using Xero (or as otherwise required)
- supporting clients on bookkeeping and management accounting queries
- preparation and analysis of VAT returns
- becoming the main point of contact for all deliverables for your management accounting clients
- assisting with other client and non-client project work and support
You will need to be able to…
- Consistently manage your projects and deadlines to deliver accurate work on time
- Use your continuous learning and interest in relevant digital technology to contribute fresh ideas to optimise work flow
- Use your experience gained in delivering university assignments to understand the client requirement and make informed decisions.
- Use your communication skills to clearly and concisely ask questions and deliver solutions and adjust your tone to different situations
- Use your problem solving and data analysis to identify and execute process improvements
- Use your attention to detail to quickly identify patterns and anomalies
- Use your experience gained with using Bookkeeping software and MS or Google Workspace applications to quickly get to grips with our systems
Qualifications required
- you are an undergraduate student in your second year of an accounting related course
- you have a minimum grade average of 2:1 degree
- A level in maths and or a numerate subject (e.g. accounting) preferred
- previous relevant work experience (preferred but not essential)
- A solid understanding of key accounting principles such as double entry

4 days per week on-site from our Wood Green office in the award winning Clockwise workspace with the option to work one day per week from home, 35 hours/week, working hours between 9:30am & 5:30pm.
